Oklahoma City University student Kelsey Griswold was crowned Miss Oklahoma 2013 on Saturday, becoming the 25th OCU student to hold that title.
Two more Oklahoma City University students – Sarah Beth White and Victoria Renard – rounded out the Top 11 at this year’s pageant, held June 4 to 8 at the Mabee Center in Tulsa.
Griswold, who is a senior majoring in acting at OCU, competed as Miss Bricktown in her debut at the Miss Oklahoma pageant. She was a preliminary talent and swimsuit winner. Griswold will compete for Miss America on Sept. 15 in Atlantic City, N.J.
Oklahoma City University boasts three former Miss Americas, more than any other university per capita.
White is a dance senior and competed in the state pageant as Miss Oklahoma City University. She finished in the Top 10.
Renard, a dance management junior, competed as Miss Brookside and won the People’s Choice Award.
In all, Oklahoma City University sent five students to the pageant. April Nelson competed as Miss Eastern Oklahoma County and Mary Ann Dutcher competed as Miss Keystone Lake and received a preliminary talent award.
