Oklahoma City University Named a Top Workplace


OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University is one of the best colleges to work for in the nation, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education’s “2017 Great Colleges to Work For” report that was released today.

The university was recognized in the categories of collaborative governance, job satisfaction, teaching environment, work-life balance, supervisor-department chair relationships and tenure clarity and process.The Chroniclealso listed Oklahoma City University on its Honor Roll, recognizing it as a stand-out institution in its size category.

In all, 42 institutions are listed on the Honor Roll and 79 institutions were recognized as a 2017 Great College to Work For.

“We are focused on providing the highest quality learning environment for our students,” said Oklahoma City University President Robert Henry. “Our campus atmosphere is built around collaboration and community in order to provide a rich and creative place to work. We are honored to be recognized byThe Chronicle and its distinguished Great Colleges to Work For program.”

The Chronicle collaborated with ModernThink LLC, a strategic human capital consulting firm to survey hundreds of thousands of employees nationwide. The process included a two-part assessment for the report including a random employee survey and an analysis of demographic data and workplace policies.

“Great Colleges to Work For” is one of the largest and most comprehensive workplace studies in higher education.
