Oklahoma City University is offering new scholarships for its Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program. The scholarships, funded through a grant from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, cover 100 percent of tuition and fees for the 18-credit-hour certificate portion of the program.

Recipients can choose to only complete the certificate program or they can continue their studies to earn a Master of Arts in TESOL, said Amy Cataldi, dean of OCU’s Petree College of Arts and Sciences.

“This is a great program for anyone interested in traveling abroad to teach internationally,” she said.

As part of the program, scholarship recipients will teach Citizenship English courses to legal permanent residents who are working toward U.S. citizenship.

To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have an accredited bachelor’s degree, excellent command of written and spoken English and meet admissions requirements.
