Diana Blackmon, RN, MSN graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. with a BSN in 1974. She completed her MSN in 1979 at The University of Oklahoma, and is currently pursuing a DNP in Administration at Oklahoma City University. Professor Blackmon began her professional nursing career as a staff nurse in pediatrics and has held administrative positions in hospitals, risk management, case management, and quality management. She has owned and operated her own consulting firm focusing on the workers’ compensation, ergonomics, and insurance industries. She has consulted nationally with hospitals and long term care facilities on safe patient handling and health care worker injury prevention. Prior to returning to full-time teaching, Professor Blackmon was the CEO for a long term acute care hospital in OKC. Professor Blackmon’s prior teaching experience includes several years as an instructor at OSU-OKC, as well as an adjunct faculty member of KSN in the clinical application of Foundations, Community, and Nursing Leadership.
