Pam Boeck, MSN, RN, CDE, originally received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Oklahoma City Community College. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma Wesleyan and Master of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma Baptist University. Her most recent expertise has been in wellness nursing. She served as the supervisor and nurse educator of Norman Regional Hospital’s Diabetes Center for the past 10 years. Prof. Boeck’s past nursing experiences have consisted primarily of hospice and psychiatric nursing. She is a member of the American Holistic Nursing Association and holds a keen interest in incorporating complementary medicine into the nursing arena. She also has worked with poetry and the arts woven into current healing modalities. Her capstone project for her master’s degree program was entitled, “Incorporating Holistic Self-care for Nurses to Prevent Compassion Fatigue and Burnout.” She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International. Prof. Boeck is married to David Boeck, Professor of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma. They have co-parented three grown children who have flown the nest, in addition to Harley, a Siamese Manx, and a spoiled terrier mix, Arlo, who remain in their home.
