COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

YOUR PATH TO CAREER ADVANCEMENT DESIGNED FOR THE WORKING NURSE

Because of our commitment to addressing the severe shortage of nurses with graduate degrees, all applicants who meet the admission requirements and eligibility criteria are accepted. The Kramer School of Nursing has no waiting list.

Full time or part time study is available. All nursing courses are scheduled on Thursdays to allow the student the flexibility to attend school while continuing employment, if desired. Business courses in the Nursing Administration track meet one evening a week.

All courses are taught by doctorally prepared nurses or nursing leaders with post-master’s education who are advanced specialists in their fields.

Tracks for the MSN degree:

Nursing Education is designed to prepare the nurse to teach in post-secondary nursing programs, including schools of practical nursing, associate degree programs, and baccalaureate and higher degree programs. This track also provides comprehensive staff and patient education within the health care system.

Nursing Administration is designed to prepare the nurse to serve in middle and upper management roles, including executive leadership, within health care organizations. This track includes courses taken from the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University related to finance and health care administration. An MSN/MBA option is also available.

To learn more about how you can earn an MSN, email cblack@okcu.edu. You can also call (405)208-5832 between 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Monday-Friday or leave a message anytime.
