Kramer School of Nursing students enrolled in Community Health Nursing from both the Undergraduate Gateway and the RN-to-BSN program participated in Central Elementary School's 8th Annual Health Fair on Thursday, Novermber 17, 2011. Led by faculty members Dr. Dia Campbell-Detrixhe, Dr. Betty Gorrell, and Prof. Hope Knight, the students served approximately 200 children and their families, giving health screenings and presenting information on a variety of topics. Over 30 booths were created which addressed such issues as dental care, hand washing, internet safety, bullying, nutrition, germs in the environment, the importance of sleep, and many others. KSN is pleased to offer service learning experiences which not only enrich our students but assist our community as well.
