Country Specific Travel Warnings

Below is a link to a current listing of the countries the U.S. Department of State (USDOS) has deemed unsafe for travel, study or work abroad.

“To ensure the safety of Oklahoma City University students and employees, university travel will not be allowed to any country or region of the world for which the U.S. Department of State has issued an official travel warning.” – OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY POLICY REGARDING USDOS TRAVEL WARNINGS.

Current Travel Warnings
Travel Warnings are issued to describe long-term, protracted conditions that make a country dangerous or unstable. A Travel Warning is also issued when the U.S. Government's ability to assist American citizens is constrained due to the closure of an embassy or consulate or because of a drawdown of its staff. Visit the state travel website for the list of countries that meet those criteria.

Student blogs about her travels!

Jacquelyn Sparks is currently a Junior at OCU who is majoring in Photography and hopefully, after participating fall 2008 semester in an OCU reciprocal exchange semester at the Universidad del Centro Educativo de Latinoamericano (UCEL) in Rosario, Argentina, Jacquelyn will receive a minor in Spanish.

Reciprocal Exchange programs allow students to pay OCU tuition and fees but study abroad at the international institution. Students are eligible to use all or part of their OCU institutional scholarships and financial aid to help fund their study abroad programs. If you or someone you know is interested in studying abroad through a reciprocal exchange, or for more information about studying abroad in general, contact the Office of International Education at oie@okcu.edu or call 405.208.5022 to schedule an appointment.
