PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
MA Degree: the Master of Arts in TESOL degree is a 36 credit-hour program. With a broad range of courses, the program aims to equip the students with the linguistics knowledge, cultural understanding, and pedagogical training essential in the various aspects of TESOL, including, among other things, curriculum design, material development, methodologies, classroom procedures, and assessment. The program also offers students practicum opportunities to gain first-hand practical experience in the field
Certificate of TESOL: the certificate is an 18 credit-hour program created specially for those who do not want to pursue a master's degree but desire credentials in TESOL that will aid them in gaining employment in TESOL both domestically and overseas.
Academic Entrance Requirements: Applicants for either program must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00. Students with a GPA slightly below 3.00 may be admitted on a probational basis. International students are required to have a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (213 on the Computer-based test). Those with a score slightly lower will be considered and admitted on a case-by-case basis.
