Summer Art Reach Programs

2008 Summer Art Reach Program for Middle School & High School Students

The Oklahoma City University Summer “Art Reach” Program provides an opportunity for Middle and High school students to participate in a summer art program on the OCU campus. This FREE program focuses on the principles and elements of art and design. These will be explored in various creative projects taught by University Faculty and Staff.

This year’s program encourages students to participate in a one-week creative program, resulting in interesting projects that the students take home. The Art Reach program provides all materials necessary for the program course, including daily lunch. There will be two different programs; one, focusing on middle school ages students and another, focusing on high school students. Each will address age appropriate projects and educational direction from experienced professors and professionals. These Art Reach classes are fun, educational, and rewarding; allowing students to realize creative potentials.

The goal of OCU’s Summer Art Reach is to be both fun and educational. We incorporate art history, aesthetics, and hands on activities allowing the student to participate as observer, critic and creator. Whether a beginner or an advanced student, our programs are designed to accommodate all levels of skill.
