Department of Art
Studio Art
OVERVIEW
Oklahoma City University offers both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art. Both programs provide students with in-depth training in both two and three-dimensional materials and processes. Additionally, studio art students will have a solid foundation in art theory, art history, and contemporary issues in order to find solutions to universal art problems.
• Bachelor of Arts, Studio allows for a broad exploration of studio art within the framework of a liberal arts education.
• Bachelor of Fine Arts, Studio students can concentrate on specific areas of studio art. The BFA is generally considered to be the initial professional degree in art. Most graduate schools prefer the BFA in their admission policies.
