TESTIMONIALS
"The Oklahoma City University Political Science Department was instrumental in helping me achieve my educational goals. As a graduating high school senior, I entered OCU with less than mediocre grades and little direction for discipline. However, after three years in the Political Science Department, I grew to understand the importance of discipline, networking, traditions, and how to implement the knowledge and exposure brought by attending a University with such attention to detail. The Political Science Dept. at OCU gave me such opportunities as attending the American University Washington Semester Program, a Europe immersion program, and receiving hands on experience through political internships and participating in political activities such as the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature, working for the Oklahoma Democratic Party, and the Black Student Organization. My experience was and still is invaluable and continues to help support my professional aspirations today."

"OCU's Political Science Department prepares each student by fostering a deep sense of applied knowledge through course studies and extracurricular activities that challenges each individual student while preparing us for our future careers. The professionalism and genuine concern of the professors mirrors their dedication to the student's success. OCU's dedication to its students extends beyond the classroom setting, as its faculty keeps current on the success of their students."

"A major in the OCU Political Science Department enriched my undergraduate experience. It offered a wealth of opportunities to establish oneself in the career world through internships and interviews with leaders in the community. Classroom experience required involvement in lectures and developed critical thinking skills that are necessary in today's job place and in graduate coursework. The extra curricular activities the Department offered, such as Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature and the Pre-law club allowed a place to practice public speaking and collaboration
"The internship I did through the OCU Political Science Department with the Oklahoma Criminal Justice Resource Center required research but also allowed me to go to the Capital for hearings over the research we were doing. I was able to see the inner workings and negotiations of the political system first hand and make contacts.
"Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature workshop, offered through OCU's Political Science Department, also taught me the inner workings of the political system. We started from writing a bill in class to passing it through the legislature in a statewide collegiate mock up of the legislature at the Capital.
"The classroom experience filled me with the knowledge, perspective and critical thinking skills and the extra-curricular activities instilled confidence in my abilities to use that knowledge. I am thankful for having picked OCU as my undergraduate home."
