Rev. Dr. Charles Neff, Vice-President for University-Church Relations
A lifelong United Methodist, Dr. Neff was raised at East Cross UMC in Bartlesville, OK and Holy Covenant UMC in Katy, TX. He received his calling to ministry at an young age and followed that calling to Oklahoma City University as a Bishop Scholar in 1995. Upon graduation from OCU with a BA in Religion, he attended Methodist Theological School in Ohio where he earned an MDiv and an MTS in Biblical Studies while also serving as pastor of Green Valley Chapel UMC near Mount Vernon, OH.
Upon returning to Oklahoma in 2003, Dr. Neff served as Associate Pastor of Christian Education and Adult Ministries at Faith UMC in Tulsa, and completed a DMin in Christian Spirituality from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. In 2007 he was appointed to Grand Avenue UMC in McAlester, OK as senior pastor where he led the congregation through two mergers (first with Wesley UMC in 2009 and then with Christ UMC in 2013) which resulted in the changing of the church name to McAlester First UMC and the construction of a new campus in 2012. It was also during this time that he completed an MBA from OCU and taught as an adjunct professor of Religion at Eastern Oklahoma State College. Dr. Neff was appointed to serve as Vice-President for University-Church Relations and Dean of the Chapel in June 2014.
Dr. Neff lives in Edmond, Oklahoma with his wife, Laura, and two children, John and Emma.

Rev. Rodney Newman, University Chaplain & Director of Student Religious Life
A native of Coweta, Oklahoma, Rev. Newman graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in history. From there he traveled east where he completed his master of divinity degree at Princeton Theological Seminary in 1989. Returning to Oklahoma, he served as associate pastor at Crown Heights United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City and Boston Avenue UMC in Tulsa then as senior pastor at Trinity UMC in Purcell and at Crown Heights. He joined the staff at OCU in June of 2007 upon his appointment as University Chaplain.
Rev. Newman lives in Oklahoma City with his wife, Ann, and children, Carus and Rachel.
