FYE. Transition. Connect. Engage.

Congratulations on your admission to Oklahoma City University!

During your first year in college you'll face many challenges. The First-Year Experience (FYE) program at OCU is designed to give you the skills to be successful in an academic community both inside and outside the classroom.

The first year at OCU begins with Stars Week and OCUReads and ends with Fire and Water, a powerful ceremony that celebrates your success. In between, you may be involved with many of our other FYE Programs and we hope you do! We want to be a resource to all new students to help you succeed at Oklahoma City University.

FYE's Mission

In support of Oklahoma City University’s mission to pursue academic excellence and dedication to student success, the First-Year Experience Program facilitates the successful academic and co-curricular transition of new undergraduate students into the Oklahoma City University community.

We strive to create a welcoming, inclusive and fun experience focused on acclimating you to our campus community both inside and outside the classroom. We support first-year students through orientation programs providing opportunities for engagement across campus and connecting students to resources to promote retention, academic and personal growth.
