Many new challenges are faced during the first year in college. The First-Year Experience (FYE) program at OCU is designed to give you the skills to be successful in an academic community both inside and outside the classroom.

The first year at OCU begins with Stars Week and OCUReads and ends with Fire and Water, a powerful ceremony that celebrates your success. In between, you may be involved with OCU Leads, Fabulous 50 Freshmen, Constellation Groups, Phi Eta Sigma, a freshmen scholastic honor society, or the Honors program.  Liberal Arts Seminars, courses designed for new students by faculty passionate about what they teach, explore contemporary themes in new and energizing ways.

FYE at OCU is committed to welcoming new students into a diverse campus community that values intellectual, moral and spiritual growth. You will be supported by faculty, staff and other students as you navigate through your first year, find friends and discover your purpose.
