MISS OCU TEEN SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT

Miss OCU Teen will:

  • Serve as a goodwill ambassador for Oklahoma City University and the Miss OCU Pageant program
  • Represent Oklahoma City University at the Miss Oklahoma Teen Pageant

Miss OCU Teen will receive:

  • 1 year tuition scholarship to Oklahoma City University valued at over $15,000
  • An official crown, banner, and trophy
  • $300 scholarship from OCU’s Performing
    Arts Academy
  • Private image consulting
  • Entry Fee to Miss Teen Oklahoma
  • Miss OCU Teen Traveling Companions
  • Traveling opportunities as the Goodwill Ambassador for Oklahoma City University

Other Scholarship Awards:
1st runner-up will receive ½ tuition scholarship.
2nd – 4th runners-up will each receive a ¼ tuition scholarship. Two non-finalist talent winners will receive ¼ tuition scholarship. One non-finalist interview winner will receive ¼ tuition scholarship. Additionally, EACH contestant who doesn’t place with in the top five will receive a $1,500 tuition waiver for 2 semesters!

 

How the Winner is Chosen:
A panel of qualified judges will score the contestants in the following categories.

  • Evening Wear - 15%
  • Personal Interview - 30%
  • On-Stage Interview Attire - 15%
  • Talent - 40%
When all judges' scores are totaled, the contestant with the highest score will become the new 2005 Miss Oklahoma City University Teen.

Phases of Competition:

  • Interview - a 5 1/2 minute private interview with judges to answer questions related to a fact sheet you will fill out about yourself. You will need to wear a 'business style" suit.
  • Casual Wear – a fun outfit that shows your personality. During this phase of competition, you will have a change to give a brief statement – on stage – about yourself and your goals in life.
  • Talent Competition - a 3 minute presentation of your choice of talent.
  • Evening Wear Competition - a chance to model your formal gown or prom dress.

How to Enter:
Return the registration form prior to September 30 with your $10 registration fee to the address on back.

Any 14-18 years old girl (currently enrolled in high school or home schooled) may enter the Miss OCU Teen pageant by paying an entry fee of $350. This fee helps offset the cost of producing the pageant.

If you currently hold a title through your school, hometown, or other pageant system, a reduced fee of $300 is available, of which Oklahoma City University will pay one-half ($150). The sponsoring organization or local chamber may pay the contestant’s remaining portion.

If the sponsoring organization elects not to pay the contestant’s entry fee, participants are encourage to solicit sponsors to cover the fee. Some participants are sponsored by their parents. Sponsors fees are tax deductible as advertising expense if your sponsor owns a business. Finding sponsors is surprisingly easy. Most organizations are please to sponsor young women to show their support for their communities. Sponsors names will be listed in the program book.

The total sponsor fee may be paid by the first deadline date, or a monthly payment plan is available if it is more convenient.
