Panhellenic 2008

Welcome Ladies!

You are in for such a wonderful time. If you’re anything like I was this time two years ago, you’re feeling a mix of joyful eagerness and pure mortification at the thought of leaving home and starting your life at OCU. Rest assured if you’re leaning toward the latter, girls. College life will be a great new adventure and you already have more than 200 women anxiously awaiting your arrival to campus! For months already, they have been looking forward to making your college transition smooth, fun and completely unforgettable during recruitment for Greek life.

The women’s Greek system at OCU is a close-knit group of girls who are full of drive, passion and spunk. Active leaders on campus, the ladies of Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Phi and Gamma Phi Beta are highly respected for their academic achievements, service to others, and unique bonds of sisterhood. Women from every major and organization have found common joy in Greek life here. As students with so many interests and talents, it is a common fear to be too busy to join a sorority. Trust me when I assure you that you do have and will welcome time with your sisters! Keep in mind that these ladies who will be your constant support system, your tutors, your biggest fans, and faster than you know it, your family. I would encourage you to enter recruitment with high expectations. These women will not only show you a warm welcome to school, but teach you the true meaning of time management, mentorship, philanthropy, respect for ritual and heritage and lifelong friendships.

I am honored and proud to be part of this group of women. Formal recruitment is your first chance to see just why it is that I (and so many others) can say that. I sincerely hope you will come and see what this sisterhood-thing is all about. Don’t be surprised if you fall in love.

Hope to meet you soon!

In Greek Sisterhood,

Ashley McGuire
Panhellenic President
