DESIGN AND PRODUCTION
The BFA in Theatre Design and Production offers students professional theatrical training as well as a foundation in the liberal arts. The BFA degree provides strong foundational knowledge in all areas of Theatre Design, Technology and Management. The program seeks to prepare students to enter the fields of theatre design, theatrical production, entertainment technology and stage management. The program will also prepare students for graduate study in Theatre Design, Production and Technology.
At OCU, we believe in learning by doing. Unlike some other universities where you need to study for two years before you can work on or perform in a production, at OCU you’ll be able to work and perform in your freshman year. We offer practical hands-on experience in theatrical productions (ranging from Theatre to Musicals to Opera to Dance) as well as the study of theory and history of theatre.
Students may select emphasis options in Scene Design, Costume Design, Lighting Design, Stage/Production Management and either Scenic, Costume or Lighting Technology.
Information on applying to the Theatre Design & Production program can be found here.
