Norick Art Center The state-of-the-art, 14,000 square-foot Norick Art Center, completed in 1985, was specially designed to be as functional, comfortable and safe as possible for students. Within the Norick Art Center is the Hulsey Gallery, featuring 3,000 square feet of exhibition space, designed by specifications from the Smithsonian Institute. The gallery is atmospherically controlled and has no windows, so the art is protected from ultraviolet light and humidity. |
Special safety features include an emergency eyewash shower and a ventilation system which pulls paint fumes from classrooms while circulating fresh air. The ceramics studio, also ventilated, has a separate kiln room. The photographic lab is set up for black and white and color processing and is also ventilated. |
