1. Fitness Center in Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center Staying in shape is easy at Oklahoma City University, which offers topnotch athletic facilities, including the Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center. The $10-million Center, which opened in January 2000, features workout facilities that are open to the entire campus community. The facility is home to the university’s basketball teams and also houses a gymnasium that seats nearly 3,400 people, badminton and volleyball courts, and a jogging track.

2. Biology Lab in Dawson-Loeffler Science and Mathematics Center Oklahoma City University science students gain hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art laboratories in Dawson-Loeffler Science and Mathematics Center. The Biology Department at Oklahoma City University offers students the opportunity to work in faculty labs through university work-study and independent research courses.

3. Nursing Lab at Kramer School of Nursing Nursing students at Oklahoma City University develop expertise in our state-of-the-art skills lab, which includes a critical care simulating unit with monitoring equipment. Students observe, document, and analyze data generated by the simulator. They also practice reading and interpreting data related to blood pressure, blood gases, drug infusion, pulse rate, intracranial pressure, and interarterial pressure for adults and children, including neo-natal situations. The equipment offers programmed simulation scenarios for student learning.

4. Lunch crowd at Alvin's Café in C.Q. Smith Student-Faculty Center Dining choices are plentiful at Oklahoma City University. You can grab a sandwich, salad, pastry, snack, or Starbucks coffee at the casual Alvin’s Café on campus. The Commons Food Court also offers a variety of menu options, including vegetarian entrées and side dishes, hamburgers and fries, stir fry, Tex-Mex, and much more. In addition to dining services, the C.Q. Smith Student-Faculty Center houses a public access computer lab, bookstore, Student Placement Office, several meeting rooms, and a dance studio.

5. Outdoors near the east side of the Gold Star Memorial Building Built in 1954, the Gold Star Memorial Building was constructed in honor of Oklahoma United Methodists killed in service to their country. The Gold Star stands as a point of honor to these Oklahomans and is a well-known landmark in Oklahoma City. The building was the first home of the school of religion and is now part of the Oklahoma City University School of Law. The building houses the law library and law faculty and administrative offices.

6. Outdoors on west side of the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel (School of Religion) The Wimberly School of Religion is housed in this award-winning chapel designed by Pietro Belluschi, one of the world’s leading architects. The Chapel’s main sanctuary seats 650 and features four large German stained-glass windows depicting the seasons. Offices, rehearsal rooms, classrooms, conference rooms, and a meditation chapel make the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel a center of campus activity.

7. Dorm room in Walker Hall Oklahoma City University freshmen women call Walker Hall home. As one of two female residence halls, the seven-story Walker Hall has 245 beds with two to three people assigned per room. Amenities include big screen TV, microwaves, laundry facilities, study rooms, game rooms, computer rooms, and exercise equipment. The hall is supervised by a house parent and seven residential assistants. House parents live in each dorm will help ease your transition from home to college.
