Mission Statement

The mission of the OCU Women’s Studies minor is to encourage the interdisciplinary study of women, cultivate an academic environment for feminist teaching and scholarship, and work toward a just society. A strong and viable women’s studies program is necessary for the University’s mission to provide a high quality liberal arts experience. In keeping with the United Methodist’s strong commitment to women’s issues, the Women’s Studies minor reinforces the commitment to justice and supporting women locally and globally.

Vision Statement

The Women’s Studies is a multi-disciplinary community of scholars who promote the intersections of women’s issues with those of other disciplines. We promote collaborative scholarship and teaching which promotes socially responsible activism.
