About the Program
The Institute for the Arts Barcelona (IAB) Study Abroad Semester program provides a unique and exciting opportunity to enhance students performing arts skills at Europe’s only International Performing Arts Institution and at the same time experience a new culture in one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities. IAB is a truly international institution, with students and staff representing over 40 different nationalities, giving Study Abroad students the opportunity to befriend like-minded artists from all over the world.

Credits/Classes
Students earn 15 US credit hours per semester at IAB
IAB offers three tracks for study abroad students:
All study abroad students at IAB are in at least one performance during their semester of study.
Accommodation
Students live at Utopia, a student residence within walking distance of IAB. Utopia is equipped with a shared kitchen, common areas, a garden terrace, and coffee shop/bar. The rooms are shared and offer basic amenities, but the location is exceptional.

Fees
Fall Semester 2021
Charged to OCU Student Account:
- OCU tuition and fees
Invoiced to student by IAB:
- On-campus housing: $4,000
- Housing deposit: $2,000 (half of the housing fee)
Additional costs that students pay directly:
- Round-trip Airfare
- Medical Insurance: OCU's travel policy may be sufficient. Students should research options based on personal needs.
- Passport and/or visa fees
- Local transportation, including travel to and from airport
- Meals: A meal plan is not offered, but students have kitchen facilities in their housing, as well as a small coffee shop on campus.
- Personal expenses

Eligibility
Eligibility
- Sophomore standing or above
- Must be at least 18 years of age at beginning of program
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (Students with a 2.50 to 2.99 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.)
- Good standing with OCU
- Demonstrated ability in the area of study selected. Generally a transcript assessment will satisfy this requirement.
Scholarships and Financial Aid
- Federal and State Aid typically apply
- Most OCU scholarships apply
