Semester in The Czech Republic
New York University in Prague (UNYP)
About the Program
The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) was established in 1998 in cooperation with the State University of New York, New Paltz, and the State University of New York Empire State College. At UNYP, all of the classes are taught in English, and courses are designed for easy transfer to US universities. Study abroad students attend classes with degree-seeking UNYP students who come from over 60 countries. UNYP’s courses and degrees are accredited by American, Czech, and British accreditation authorities.
The internationally diverse faculty is made up of 125 members from 25 countries. UNYP offers small class sizes to emphasize dynamic and engaged learning. Student clubs offer the opportunity to get involved outside of the classroom and to make an impact on the Czech community.
UNYP’s campus is situated in Vinohrady - a quiet, upscale neighborhood in central Prague. The facilities combine 19th-century architectural charm with 21st-century teaching and technology, and a full university administration is dedicated to supporting its students to the highest possible standard.
Students who study abroad at UNYP jump right into this vibrant community, and the UNYP community welcomes them warmly.
About Prague
Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, though still a little off the beaten path for many. Its cobble stoned streets, lined with colorful and ornate 19th century buildings, will lead you to countless cafés, museums, galleries, shops, parks, and monuments. In Prague, you will find an incredible blend of old and new, a rich history that is right before your eyes.
The city of Prague provides an excellent environment to live in, to learn in, and to expand your horizons in. Best of all, UNYP is located right in the heart of this wonderful city.
