University of Nicosia

About the Program

The University of Nicosia is a well-known international institution and the largest university in Cyprus. It is accredited at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels and has particular strengths in business, international relations, engineering, computer science and some areas of the social sciences. The University of Nicosia has more than 200 faculty, over 80 percent of which hold the rank of assistant professor or higher.

All of the classroom buildings in Nicosia were built over the last decade and match modern American facilities in terms of design, comfort and information technology. The University of Nicosia is designed on the American semester model and uses US standards for grading, contact hours and credit hours, making transfer credit straightforward. All University of Nicosia courses, for local or international students, are taught in English.

Housing

Housing at UNIC

Housing is guaranteed for all students who apply by the deadline. Most housing comprises university-owned apartments within walking distance from campus. Standard housing is a shared room in a two-bedroom apartment. Apartments include full kitchens and are fully furnished.

Fees

The following fees are paid to University of Nicosia

  • Program Fee: $4800 to $6600 depending on program
  • Student Housing: Included in program fee
  • Nonrefundable Deposit: $250 (deducted from program fee)
  • Mandatory Medical Insurance: $150
  • Transportation to and from the airport: Included in program fee

Not included in program fee

  • Round-trip international airfare: Varies by itinerary
  • Meals: Estimated student cost $1000 to $1500
  • Local transportation: $150
  • Books: $50 to $150
  • Passport and visa fees

Eligibility

  • Sophomore standing or above
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at beginning of program
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Good standing with OKCU
