Annual Giving

Many of Oklahoma City University’s donors choose to make their gifts through the OCU annual giving program. The majority of gifts are made online, via mail or by phone. Our phone calls and direct mail pieces also help us update our records, communicate new initiatives or exciting programs, and answer any questions that our alumni or friends might have. OCU faculty and staff typically give each spring during our Campus Campaign. An increasing number of donors choose to make their gift through our secure online form.

Annual Fund contributions keep tuition down, provide scholarship assistance, conduct critical building renovations, secure vital equipment for student use, and maintain the natural beauty of campus. Annual gifts can be any amount, and you are able to designate your gift to a specific college or department if you choose. Most annual gifts are for the unrestricted OCU Fund, meaning the donor allows the university to determine how the gift is used. The OCU Fund is used to assist with ongoing needs such as scholarships and allows OCU to take advantage of new opportunities.

Making Your Gift

Most gifts to OCU are in the form of cash, either through a check or a credit or debit card. If you itemize, cash gifts are fully deductible, up to 50 percent of Adjusted Gross Income.

Matching Gift Program

If you work for any number of national or international employers, your company may match your gift, as well. Retirees may be eligible as well. Arranging a corporate matching gift is an easy way for OCU alumni, parents and friends to increase the impact of their personal contributions to the university. By taking advantage of their company's matching gift benefit, a donor can generate an additional gift which may double or triple their own contribution without any further obligation from the donor.
