2020 Alumni Directory & FAQ

Good call! OCU Alumni Directory, on the line!

Every 10 years the OCU Alumni Association prints an alumni directory, and the 2020 directory project is about to begin!

The Oklahoma City University Office of Alumni Engagement has partnered with Publishing Concepts, Inc. (PCI) to produce and update our alumni and faculty directory.

Starting in July, PCI will be contacting OCU alumni via mail, phone and email to request that you update your information. Up-to-date alumni information is critical to strengthen the OCU alumni network, provide career guidance to OCU students and alumni, as well as determining our ranking in national and international evaluations.

We understand security and privacy are concerns, but please know PCI is a trusted partner of the OCU Alumni Association. Directories will be available for purchase; you will have the option to update your contact information and opt out of the printed directory if you wish.

I received an email/postcard/phone call from a company asking for my personal information. They said they were working on a directory for Oklahoma City University. Is this a legitimate project, or is it a scam?

This is a legitimate OCU project. We have partnered with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to produce our new alumni directory. PCI is a company located in Dallas, TX that publishes directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities and military organizations across the nation. This project allows Oklahoma City University to receive important updates to our database so we know more about our alumni and how we can better serve you and future alumni.

How do I know my information will only be used for directory purposes?

Oklahoma City University has a contractual agreement with PCI that states:

a. The names, addresses and information provided to PCI by Oklahoma City University for the publication of the Directory will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the Directory and except as required by court order or law.

b. The Directory will be made available only to alumni of Oklahoma City University. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to Oklahoma City University any and all electronic files that have been supplied by Oklahoma City University or produced by PCI in connection with the production of the Directory.

Did you sell my contact information to PCI?

No, we did not sell your contact information. PCI is strictly using alumni contact information for this project only. They are a trusted partner of hundreds of colleges and universities around the country.

Why isn't someone from OCU contacting alumni?

OCU contracted with an outside vendor due to the internal resource capacity of the Office of Alumni Engagement. A third party staffing a phone bank gives us the resources needed to continue strengthening the OCU network and ensures the directory is comprehensive, accurate, and completed on time.

Why do a print directory?

Our last print directory was published ten years ago in 2010, and this directory project provides OCU with the opportunity to better connect our alumni and ensure we have the most up-to-date information. Additionally, some people do not have Facebook or LinkedIn, but still want the ability to connect with their classmates, and while others maintain an appreciation for the ability to have this information available in print.

Who will be included in the directory?

The directory will include all OCU alumni unless they have specifically requested to not be in the directory.

Why do I need to update my information?

Your participation in the directory project helps keep you connected to your alma mater and to your fellow OCU alumni.

I would like to verify and update my information. How may I do this?

If you have received a postcard or an email with a telephone number, you may call the number to speak with a dedicated representative for the Oklahoma City University project. The representative will verify all the information we have on file for you and make any updates where needed. One of the numbers for the Oklahoma City University alumni is 1-855-912-4607.

If you have received an email with an embedded link, you may go to the online site to review your information. If you have questions, you may call PCI’s customer service desk at 1-800-982-1590.

How much will a directory cost?

The 2020 Alumni Directory will cost $119.98, plus shipping and handling.

Digital copies of the directories will be available for $119.98.

PCI also offers package deals which include OCU-branded gear such as shirts and travel bags. Please call them for details: 1-855-912-4607

If my name is listed in the directory, am I obligated to purchase a copy?

Everyone will be given the opportunity to purchase his or her own copy of the directory. If you provide your information, your name will be listed regardless of whether you decide to purchase a copy.

I updated my information but I am still getting mail or email at my old address.

Updates made with PCI will take a few weeks to be updated in OCU’s alumni database. You may see outdated information on communications or on our online directory for a short time, but please rest assured that your updates will be made and your requests honored.

What if I don't want to be listed in the directory? What if I don't want certain pieces of information listed?

PCI can still update your information for us but will honor your specific request to exclude all or parts of your biographical data from the publication.

When you call to update your information, you can tell the representative what information you would prefer to have excluded. You may also communicate this information to the PCI customer service desk at 1.800.982.1590 or to the OCU Office of Alumni Engagement.

Can anyone purchase a directory?

The Oklahoma City University 2020 Alumni Directory is available for sale only to Oklahoma City University alumni and faculty.

Can I opt out of participating in this directory?

Absolutely. Please call the Office of Alumni Engagement at 405-208-7000 or email

When will I receive my directory?

The total duration of the directory project is about 12 months. Since we began the project in July 2019, the directories will be distributed in July 2020.

I ordered a directory/package over the phone and would like to cancel my order. How do I do this?

Call the PCI customer service help desk at 1-800-982-1590, and they will take care of this for you.

I am a current/former faculty member and not an alumnus. Why am I being asked to participate?

OCU alumni far and wide speak highly about their OCU faculty. Many alumni have asked for contact information for their faculty members, so we have decided to include faculty in the 2020 Alumni Directory.
