Residency Pass Program
Our Residency Pass Program allows community members access to many of the writing workshops offered during The Red Earth MFA Residencies. However, because it’s a residency-only continuing-education program that carries no credit hours, you do not need to be admitted to the University nor do we require you possess a bachelor’s degree.
Our Residency Pass Program offers two passes: a Poetry Pass which will allow you to attend 3 poetry workshops plus two others of your choice and a Prose Pass, which offers 3 prose workshops and two others of your choice, any genre.
The cost of the residency pass is $300, $60 per one and one-half hour workshop, which you will recognize as a bargain if you’ve ever taken community writing classes before. Bios for our accomplished Visiting Instructors and workshop descriptions will be included with the application. Read about our distinguished faculty mentors.
Residency Pass applications usually open 6-8 weeks before the upcoming residency. The Residency Pass application for January Residencies is available around November 1; for the July residency, the pass application is available near the end of May. If you'd like to be notified when Residency Pass Application are available, please contact The Red Earth MFA Director, Jeanetta Calhoun Mish: mfadirector@okcu.edu

In addition to the Pass Program, each Residency we offer two free public literary readings in the greater Oklahoma City area:the Faculty and Instructor Reading and the Visiting Writer Reading. We’ll post details of both readings about four weeks before each residency; like our Facebook page to follow our events.
