Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership

Nonprofit Leadership at Oklahoma City University

Nonprofit organizations are a powerful third sector, standing alongside the for-profit businesses and governmental entities that drive our economy and contribute to the quality of life we all enjoy. In today’s complex world, nonprofit organizations play an integral role in almost every facet of our society and those working and volunteering in this sector demonstrate servant leadership in its purest form.

Oklahoma City University is proud to offer several innovative options for those interested in enhancing their skills as leaders, either as paid employees or volunteers, in the not-for-profit sector. For those interested in a full 36 credit hour degree, we are pleased to offer a customizable approach that allows each student to select from one of three specialized tracks. For those wanting a smaller commitment, our 15 credit hour certificate options are designed to boost your understanding of specific sections of the nonprofit sector.

Programs for Working Professionals and First-Time Students

Oklahoma City University's Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership program can be completed in either one or two years, depending on each student's specific needs. Offered both in-person and via live-streaming, all classes are held in the evenings and are taught by experts actively working in the nonprofit sector. Classes are offered in 8-week blocks allowing students to complete as many as four classes per semester while never juggling more than two classes at any given time. Explore the Degree Program section of this website to see sample class schedules and review our suggested course sequence.

The Nonprofit Leadership program is led by two individuals who, combined, have garnered more than 60 years working in and leading large-scale organizations in almost every area of the nonprofit sector (public charities, community foundations, private foundations). The entire faculty is dedicated to the success of our students as a way to directly advance the nonprofit sector in Oklahoma and across the United States.

We invite you to explore the sections of this website to learn about our degree and certificate options. Our faculty are always eager to chat so reach out with any questions you might have, or even just to say hello.
