The PPE for Incoming Freshmen
The PPE major puts students on the fast track to the Oklahoma City University School of Law. Incoming Freshmen in the PPE program can qualify to complete their combined B.A. and J.D. degrees in only six years rather than the usual seven. This results in significant tuition savings. To qualify for early admission to OKCU Law, participants must complete the course requirements of the PPE degree. They will receive their B.A. degrees after successfully completing their first year of law school.
PPE students with an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher and an LSAT score of 155 or higher are guaranteed admission to the OKCU School of Law. Other PPE students will receive a preference in admission to the School of Law over applicants from other undergraduate institutions.
To be eligible for the PPE at Oklahoma City University, incoming freshmen must satisfy any one of the following requirements:
- A composite ACT score of 27 or higher
- A combined SAT score of 1280 or higher
- A high school cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). In addition, international students must have an internet-based TOEFL (IBT) score of 100 or higher
- Complete the university application for admission. Please ensure that you have completed the 250-word essay response to the question, “What interests you about the study of law?”
- Submit the required documents to complete your application. Please include your resume.
- Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and you should be notified of decisions within two to three weeks following the completion of your admissions application pending any missing documents or need for additional review.
