The Meinders School of Business prepares human resource professionals to take the PHR and SPHR certifications exams.

Program Information

The Meinders School of Business is recognized as being one of the best business schools in the world. Through our Executive & Professional Education Center, we provide an opportunity for HR professionals to master the necessary information for the PHR and SPHR certification exams.

Who Should Attend the PHR?

  • If you have at least one year of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a Master's degree or higher, or
  • Have at least two years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • Have at least four years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a high school diploma.

Who should attend the SPHR?

  • If you have at least four years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a Master’s degree or higher, or
  • Have at least five years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • Have at least seven years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a high school diploma.

Which Certification is Right for Me?

PHR

HR professionals who have experience with program implementation, a tactical/logistical orientation, are accountable to another HR professional within the organization, and have responsibilities that focus on the HR department rather than the whole organization.

PHR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Less than a Bachelor's Degree - have at least four years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a high school diploma.
  • Bachelor's Degree - have at least two years of experience in a professional-level HR position.
  • Master's Degree - have at least one year of experience in a professional-level HR position.

SPHR

HR professionals who are responsible for planning rather than implementing HR policy. They have proven accountability for HR department goals, for breadth and depth of knowledge in all HR disciplines, and for understanding business issues beyond the HR function.

SPHR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Less than a Bachelor's Degree - have at least seven years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a high school diploma.
  • Bachelor's Degree - have at least five years of experience in a professional-level HR position.
  • Master's Degree - have at least four years of experience in a professional-level HR position.
Course Description & Schedule

All classes are delivered online. Tuition is $600, plus materials. Printed material with flash cards are $400 per set; online material only with online flash cards are $300 per set; both printed and online materials are $500 per set.

Jill Hudson, Esq., SPHR

Human Resources Certification

Jill brings the benefit of over 25 years of professional human resources experience at the executive level in public, private, government and professional services environments to provide support to her consulting clients. She has a passion for helping organizations create and integrate a strategic HR function that aligns with the overall company mission and objectives. A human resources generalist and management consultant, Ms. Hudson has a broad background in HR compliance, strategic planning, organizational culture, employee relations, benefits design and administration, total compensation planning, organizational design, performance management and training and development.

Prior to joining Gallagher Benefit Services Oklahoma City Office in October of 2015, she was president of Hudson & Associates Consulting, Inc., an organizational consulting firm providing HR and employment law compliance support to organizations of all sizes. Jill holds a Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Secondary Education Certification from Ohio Northern University, and has completed significant course work toward a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of Georgia. She is licensed to practice law in Oklahoma and has held the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation for over 20 years. Jill is also an adjunct faculty member, instructing for graduate and undergraduate degree programs on ground and online since 1998. She is a frequent speaker, facilitator and trainer for a wide variety of organizations and programs and is qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and provides assistance to organizations in team/leadership development. Jill is also a certified mediator and provides private mediation services to her clients, which can often prevent an issue from escalating to agency claims or litigation.
