PHR AND SPHR Exam Preparation Course

The Meinders School of Business prepares human resource professionals to take the PHR and SPHR certifications exams.

The Meinders School of Business is recognized as being one of the best business schools in the world. Through our Executive & Professional Education Center, we provide an opportunity for HR professionals to master the necessary information for the PHR and SPHR certification exams.

Who should attend the PHR?

  • If you have at least one year of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a Master's degree or higher, or
  • Have at least two years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • Have at least four years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a high school diploma.

Who should attend the SPHR?

  • If you have at least four years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a Master’s degree or higher, or
  • Have at least five years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • Have at least seven years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a high school diploma.

It is a preparatory course for the PHR and SPHR certification examinations given by the Human Resource Certification Institute. The online component allows students to attend at their convenience from anywhere in the world.

Which certification is right for me?

PHR

HR professionals who have experience with program implementation, a tactical/logistical orientation, are accountable to another HR professional within the organization and have responsibilities that focus on the HR department rather than the whole organization.

PHR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Less than a Bachelor's Degree - have at least four years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a high school diploma.
  • Bachelor's Degree - have at least two years of experience in a professional-level HR position.
  • Master's Degree - have at least one year of experience in a professional-level HR position.

SPHR

HR professionals who are responsible for planning rather than implementing HR policy. They have proven accountability for HR department goals, for breadth and depth of knowledge in all HR disciplines, and for understanding business issues beyond the HR function.

SPHR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Less than a Bachelor's Degree - have at least seven years of experience in a professional-level HR position plus a high school diploma.
  • Bachelor's Degree - have at least five years of experience in a professional-level HR position.
  • Master's Degree - have at least four years of experience in a professional-level HR position.

Course description and schedule

All classes are delivered online. Tuition is $600 plus materials. Printed material with flash cards are $435 per set; online material only with online flash cards are $335 per set; both printed and online materials are $535 per set. NOTE: There is a 2.85% fee for credit card payments.

Fall 2023 dates: Sept. 18 through Nov. 12, 2023
