Biography

Andrew Gibson serves as OCU-TV Station Manager/ Artist in Residence. Gibson primarily teaches production courses in the broadcasting track of the department.

Gibson’s professional experience includes serving as a sports reporter/anchor for KTEN-TV in Denison, Texas. While there he covered a wide array of teams including the Oklahoma Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, as well as high school sports.

Gibson also worked for KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City as a video journalist before moving to London, England, where he worked for Chelsea Football Club. While living in the U.K. he married his wife Lindsay in Scotland.

Upon returning from London, Gibson began his teaching career at Norman Public Schools teaching studio production. He worked for the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets during their two seasons in Oklahoma City, operating a baseline camera for the big screen at home games in the Ford Center. Andy works as a freelance camera operator for high school, college and professional sports broadcasts across the region. He helps to broadcast Oklahoma City Thunder home games at Chesapeake Arena for FOX Sports Oklahoma and TNT. 

Gibson holds an M.A. in Mass Communications and B.A. in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma.

In his spare time Gibson enjoys running and training for the next marathon. He also loves playing and watching soccer.
