Biography

As OCU’s first donor relations manager, April Marciszewski develops and implements stewardship communication plans for every type of donor who gives to OCU. The pillars of her work, in coordination with all of University Advancement, include gift acknowledgements, stewardship, recognition, and donor engagement. She strives to do right by everyone who decides to be generous, serving as a point of contact, researcher, and problem-solver for donors, OCU colleagues, and students. Marciszewski reports OCU's story to donors, sharing about amazing students and how education is transforming their lives.

She has worked at OCU since August 2014, receiving the Extra Mile Award, the top award for OCU staff members twice, in 2016 and 2020. She previously worked as a graphic designer, following a career as a newspaper journalist. Marciszewski served as OCU’s Staff Council president in 2018–19, led communications efforts for the university’s process of determining its core values in 2019, and spearheaded United Way fundraising and communications within the OCU community from 2018 to 2020.

She strongly believes in the power of an excellent education.
