Biography
As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Professor Pitman practiced holistic and compassionate care for transplant patients at the Nazi Zuhdi Transplant Institute. Areas of specialization include advanced gastroenterology, critical care, sepsis, palliative care, and diabetes. After a successful career in clinical practice and because of a lifelong dream to teach, she joined the team at Kramer School of Nursing in 2017. Teaching areas include Adult Health I and II, Pharmacology, Health Assessment, and Critical Care. She is a founding faculty member of the high-fidelity Meinders Simulation Center and leads a study abroad course and service-learning trip to Oaxaca, Mexico.
