Biography

Bruce Macella is an adjunct faculty member in the Mass Communications Department.  He retired from full time teaching in 2015 as a tenured professor.

Macella joined OCU in 1997 after teaching Visual Communications at the University of Oklahoma. Macella joined the Mass Communications department after teaching Graphic Design in the Art department for more than 10 years. He also served as Art department chairman.

Macella began working as an Art Director/Graphic Designer in Chicago before moving to Oklahoma to work In-house with Sonic Industries. He also worked for Rick McIntosh Design before doing freelance work for Ad Agencies, & clients like McDonalds, KZBS Radio, the University of Oklahoma’s College of Business, Landmark Land, various Oil companies, Nevis–International Banking, and the Waterford in Oklahoma City. He also remains active in the Design community with a few projects for Square Mile Design.

He has an AS degree from Triton College, a BFA & MFA from the University of Oklahoma in Visual Communications. Macella remains active in the professional community with IAO, AIGA organizations, as well as competitions and internship opportunities.
