Biography

Byron Burr Millsap, CPA, recently completed his 30-year career as the associate vice president and chief purchasing officer for the University of Oklahoma. He is a retired Certified Public Accountant. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma, and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. He serves as an adjunct faculty member at Oklahoma City University, teaching the course Accounting and Financial Management for Nonprofit Organizations, and has written the accompanying text. He has also served as a faculty member of the Professional Development Academy of the National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP) and has served many years as Associate Editor of the NAEP Journal. He has served as a director on the Board of E&I Cooperative, with several of those years as Board President. He has also served on the Board of NAEP. He has received several NAEP awards throughout his career. Burr is a retired Commander of the United States Navy Supply Corps, having served eight years of active duty during the Viet Nam War era and twelve years in the active Navy Reserve. He is an Eagle Scout.
