Biography

Alumnus: ’49 Bachelor of Arts

Wade played for the university’s Fighting Goldbugs football team in the 1940s. He served in the United States Air Force in World War II and during the conflicts in Korea and Vietnam. Wade is a highly decorated military veteran who earned the rank of brigadier general before retiring. In 2001 Wade created a $100,000 endowed scholarship fund to help student athletes at Oklahoma City University. More recently, Wade established the Jim Wade Family Scholarship Trust through the Baptist church that he attends, which helps first-year college students from the church.
