Areas of Expertise

Professor Paque is currently Of Counsel at the law firm of McAfee & Taft in Oklahoma City. He represents clients in the energy, chemical, manufacturing, and transportation sectors on environmental issues including civil enforcement, auditing, litigation, permitting, workplace safety, air quality, water quality, waste handling and disposal, and Superfund/CERCLA matters. He has represented clients before the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and several other regulatory agencies throughout the U.S.

Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, Professor Paque served as assistant general counsel at Tronox, a publicly traded global mining and chemical manufacturing corporation, where he held a key role in overseeing compliance, risk management, and business management activities of the company. Professor Paque began his legal career as an attorney for the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. At the ODEQ, he was promoted to the position of Attorney Supervisor for the Air Quality Division and was responsible for a variety of counseling activities, including enforcement, permitting and rulemaking matters.

Professor Paque serves as an officer of the Oklahoma Bar Association Environmental Law Section and is an active member of the Oklahoma Mineral Lawyers Society and the ABA Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources.
