Biography

Meghan Buchanan is the Scenic Charge Artist and Resident Scenic Designer for Oklahoma Children’s Theater. In 2010, she Co-Founded the New York based Paper Mache Monkey Art and Design Studio. With PMM, Meghan designed and built set pieces, props, and puppets for theater and television shows such as the Broadway productions of Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson and the Merchant of Venice, Once on this Island & The Little Mermaid at Papermill Playhouse, The Explorers Club at MTC, Saturday Night Live (Rhianna”s Musical Set), and Billy on the Street. Meghan was part of the Tony and Obie Award winning scenic design team (under the leadership of Donyale Werle) for Peter and the Starcatcher. Paper Mache Monkey created props and scenic pieces for PATSC at New York Theater Workshop, The Brooks Atkinson (Broadway), New World Stages, and the 1st National Tour. Meghan has worked as the Prop Master and/or artisan for numerous productions at the Public Theater including Into the Woods, Hair, and Mother Courage. She was the Prop and Costume Engineer for the Ontological Hysteric Theater (2005-2009), The Prop Supervisor for the 2009 & 2010 seasons of the Actor’s Studio at Pace University, and the Props Master for the Williamstown Theater Festival in 2008.
