Biography

Alumnus: ’75 Bachelor of Science in Business ‘80 Juris Doctor

Paul E. McLaughlin works as a private investor in Mission Woods, Kansas. From 1985 to 2014, he worked as a partner at Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP in the areas of income taxation, estate planning and nonprofit entities. He specifically had experience in mergers and acquisitions, business entities, joint ventures, tax-exempt entities, complex matters of taxable financings and master limited partnerships. McLaughlin also advised clients in the establishment and operation of nonprofit organizations. He previously served as chairperson of the firm’s Tax, Trusts and Estates Group and belonged to the Missouri Bar.

McLaughlin serves on the board of directors of Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, working on the audit and compliance, quality and safety, and governance committees. He previously served as director and president of the Jacob and Ella Loose Foundation and Spofford Home, along with other community involvement. He belongs to the Kansas City Tomorrow Class XIII and Platte Woods United Methodist Church.
