Biography

Susan Cosby, an Assistant Professor of Arts Management, holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance and a Master of Business Administration in Arts Management from Oklahoma City University.  She currently serves on the Arts Management faculty teaching Arts Management & Production Levels 1, 2 and 3, Touring, Contracts, and Stage Management and serves as the Technical Director for the Student Choreography Show.  Susan’s previous faculty work at OCU earned her the Adjunct Faculty Member of the Year award.  She also formerly served for many years as the Company Manager for the world renowned American Spirit Dance Company here at OCU.  In this position, she was the Production Stage Manager for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic’s Yuletide Magicand for several of the dance company’s regional and international tours.  Other stage management experience includes the Norman Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker and the Classical Ballet School’s productions of The Wizard of Oz,Hansel and Gretel, and Coppelia.  Before becoming an arts manager and professor, Susan performed at numerous Regional Theatres, on cruise ships and at Disney World.  Favorite roles include swing on the National Tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat starring Donny Osmond, ensemble in the European Tour of 42ndStreet, and Peggy Sawyer in Lyric Theatre’s production of42ndStreet.
