Biography

Susan Dillard is a graduate from Oklahoma City University's Master of Musical Theater program, and is thrilled and honored to be back at OCU as an adjunct professor of voice.

With her graduate experience at OCU, a degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a variety of directorial positions held with ensembles of all kinds, Susan takes pride in her diverse musical and educational background. Most recently, she has performed with The City Cabaret OKC, Fresh Paint Performance Lab, and, during her studies at OCU, as Joanne in Rent, Ottone in The Coronation of Poppea, and co-directed the student-run opera program, OPERAtions. Outside of the academic realm, Susan directs the choir at Church of the Open Arms, UCC, in Oklahoma City.

Susan is the co-director of the Musical Theater Summer Workshop at the Academy of Music in Northampton, Massachusetts. During this summer experience she enjoys building curriculum for kids aged 7-14 years that explores worldly themes through music, theater, dance, visual arts, and team building.

Continuously on the lookout for new performance opportunities, Susan dabbles in jazz, pop/rock, musical theater, and classical styles as much as she can. She strives to be a versatile performer, and encourages her students to challenge themselves so that they can be flexible, healthy, and successful performers for their whole lives.
