Biography

Wendy Brunner joined OCU's Mass Communications department in 2011. Her major area of teaching is broadcasting.  

Brunner's professional experience began as a news anchor, reporter and producer at KNAZ-TV in Flagstaff, Arizona. She moved to Tupelo, Mississippi, to join the NBC/Fox affiliate WTVA/WLOV-TV as an evening anchor. While there, Brunner won several Associated Press awards for local news reporting.  

Brunner was also a morning news anchor at Orlando's 24-hour local news station, Central Florida News 13, where she covered all four hurricanes that devastated the area in 2004. Brunner's teaching career began while she was anchoring in Orlando; she taught broadcast journalism at the University of Central Florida and later at the University of Florida.  

Brunner holds an M.A. in Mass Communications and a B.A. in Radio/Television Communication, both from UCF. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D.  

In her spare time Wendy is an avid reader, news junkie, lover of social media, and a rabid college football fan. She enjoys yelling at the TV during football season with her husband, Walter, and their beautiful daughter, Isabella.
