Physical Therapy Application Instructions

All Doctor of Physical Therapy* (DPT) applicants must apply through the Physical Therapy Central Application Service (PTCAS). Application instructions for PTCAS are found at PTCAS.ORG.

The 2020-2021 admission cycle will be available from July 1st, 2020, through November 1st, 2020. All application documents must be submitted no later than November 1st.

The DPT Program does not have admission and enrollment practices that favor specified individuals or groups. All DPT applicants must meet the admission requirements.

Application Materials

In order to complete the DPT Application, applicants must submit the following:

  • PTCAS Application, which includes the following:
    • Transcripts
    • 3 Letters of Recommendation
      • 1 letter each from the following: Licensed Physical Therapist whom the applicant has observed; Science Professor/Instructor; Additional Professor, health professional, or recent/current employer or supervisor
    • Resume/CV
    • PTCAS Fee (determined by # of designated programs)
  • Official GRE Score Report
    • Sent to OCU using GRE Code: 6543
  • Observation Hours through OCU
  • OCU Supplemental Application
    • No attachments will be submitted with the OCU Supplemental Application.

Supplemental Application Instructions

The OCU Supplemental Application may be completed at any time during the admission cycle (July – December 1), either before or after completion of the PTCAS application.

Steps to Complete the OCU Supplemental Application

  1. After clicking the application link (at the bottom).
  2. Create an application username and password (this will allow you to save and complete the application at your convenience).
  3. Select “DPT: Doctor of Physical Therapy”.
  4. Select term: “Summer 2021”.
  5. Select “Save and Continue”.
  6. Complete the application form, and follow any instructions on the application–you do not need to submit new recommendations or transcripts (we use all PTCAS documents).
  7. Submit the application.
