Art gallery talk: “Do They Make a Sound?”

Panel Discussion:

“Do They Make a Sound?”

6 p.m. March 3

Norick Art Center

Discussion led by curator Heather Lunsford with artist Jessica Lichtenstein; Angela Beatty, YWCA chief officer over domestic violence programs; Amanda Kemp, YWCA senior director over sexual assault response team and prevention; and Beth Green, OCU professor of criminal justice.

The Hulsey Gallery will host the works of artist Jessica Lichtenstein in “Do They Make a Sound?” from Jan. 10 to April 1.

Lichtenstein’s thought-provoking show, first exhibited in New York City, uses the female body as a mechanism to explore deeper themes of power, female representation and objectification. The work was created in the wake of the #MeToo movement to initiate a dialogue around consent and female sexuality in the modern age.
