Mandatory COVID-19 Testing for OCU Residence Halls

Dear Students and Parents,

Oklahoma City University has added mandatory COVID-19 testing for all students who will reside in campus housing this fall. The requirement is the newest addition to the university’s health and safety protocols, which are designed to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Residents will have three options for testing:

  • Test by mail – The university will mail test kits no later than July 27 to all students who have completed university housing applications. Instructions to attend a scheduled virtual appointment to perform the supervised specimen collection will be included in the test kit along with prepaid mailing instructions. All kits will be mailed as overnight packages and test results will be available 24 to 48 hours after the test is returned. OCU will cover the cost of any mailed kits that are not covered by health insurance. If you are currently at a different address than you listed on your housing application, please contact efbradley@okcu.edu by noon on July 24 to verify your current address.
  • Test in your local area – Certified test results dated within seven days prior to a student’s assigned move-in date will be accepted via Bluelink. Results can be uploaded on this secure page by selecting COVID-19 Test Results from the drop-down menu.
  • Test at the OCU clinic – Call 405.373.2400 to schedule an appointment to take the test at the clinic.

Students currently living in OCU housing must schedule an appointment for testing with the Campus Clinic no later than July 28. International students are encouraged to test in their home country to ensure the test is completed before move-in. Students in Oklahoma City are welcome to contact the clinic at 405.373.2400 for a testing appointment.

Any students who test positive will need to delay their move-in date. Additionally, any students who arrive for move-in without a negative test on file will need to test with the Campus Clinic and wait 24-to-48-hours for their results before proceeding with move-in or a delayed move-in, depending on the test results.
