Bass Music Center
Since opening in 2006, the $38.5-million, 113,000-square-foot Bass Music Center addition of the Bass School has hosted artists and educators from around the world, including the International Society of Bassists; the National Association of Teachers of Singing; the Society of Composers, Inc.; and the NEA-sponsored Arts Education Partnership. This world-class facility, built to the highest acoustical standards, features 60 practice rooms, 40 teaching studios, high-tech music labs, ensemble rehearsal rooms and a black box theater.The Bass Music Center is an unprecedented creative collaboration between musicians and acousticians, architects and network designers, craftsmen and visionaries. This joyful synergy created a place inspired by a dream: a dream to build the world's finest facility for teaching music. It is an inspiration built to inspire; a finely crafted instrument designed for students and faculty, beckoning them to grow beyond their imagination.
