OCU Celebrating Homecoming with Virtual Events

Oklahoma City University is hosting a largely virtual homecoming celebration this year, with events this week under a theme titled “Press Play: Celebrate@Home(coming).”

A complete schedule of events with registration links is available online at okcu.edu/alumni/homecoming. The events will focus on engaging alumni including a lunch and learn Tuesday, virtual reunions and a virtual escape room challenge Wednesday, a day of service volunteer project and the annual Oklahoma Commerce & Industry Hall of Honor ceremony Thursday, and a virtual lip sync contest Friday. OCU’s Opera & Music Theater Company will also give livestreamed performances of “Cosi Fan Tutte” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The reunions are grouped according to schools and will be hosted by faculty and emeritus faculty members. The lunch and learn will provide details on how OCU alumni can engage with their alma mater.

This year’s Hall of Honor induction ceremony will welcome Meg Salyer of Accel Financial Staffing, Sean Trauschke of OGE Energy Corp. and Blake Wade of the Native American Cultural and Educational Authority. Tickets are available for purchase online.

Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutte” is the company’s season-opening opera production. It will be presented in English with a mid-century American twist. It is directed by guest director Matthew Sipress with music direction by Jan McDaniel.
