OCU partners with OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Guaranteed Interview Program

Oklahoma City University has partnered with the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences to guarantee interviews for select OCU pre-med students. The program, utilized by eight other Oklahoma universities, provides a clear path to interviews with the OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine.

To qualify for the program, students must meet academic criteria, including a minimum 3.5 GPA and 502 MCAT score. Prospective students who have met the full criteria will be guaranteed an invitation to interview with the OSU-COM admissions committee.

“OCU students consistently receive a high rate of acceptance into medical schools and other competitive graduate programs,” said Helen Gaudin, associate dean of OCU’s Petree College of Arts & Sciences. “Guaranteed interview programs like this one offer students tremendous peace of mind because hardworking students know they can count on being granted a coveted interview spot if they meet the academic standards.”

OSU-COM established this program to encourage promising pre-med students to pursue careers in Oklahoma. By alleviating the stress of having to secure an interview, the initiative reduces obstacles for students to further their medical education.

“We are proud to partner with Oklahoma City University to offer the Guaranteed Interview Program to eligible pre-med students,” said JuLee Wells, director of recruitment for the College of Osteopathic Medicine. “OCU is the first private institution to collaborate with OSU-COM to offer this unique pathway to their students.”

In an effort to retain exceptional students with demonstrated knowledge in their fields, OCU also provides a guaranteed interview program for undergraduate students pursuing advanced degrees in physical therapy, clinical psychology, and physician assistant studies. Both the in-house program and partnerships such as the school’s agreement with OSU-COM aid students in their pursuit of higher education.
