The Oklahoma City University Wimberly School of Religion and Nonprofit Leadership programs are proud to host the Wimberly Nonprofit Leadership for Faith Organizations certificate workshop series. Grow in your knowledge and understanding of effective leadership and expand your professional skills in fundamental areas with OCU!
Expand your organization’s impact and your professional knowledge with expertise from nonprofit thought leaders providing insights tailored for those working in faith organizations.
This inaugural series is co-sponsored by the United Methodist General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) Leadership, Education, and Development (LEAD) Hub - United States.

These interactive sessions will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 28, April 18, Sept. 26 and Nov. 14, 2023, in the Watson Lounge in the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel (Lunch/Networking at 11 a.m. and the presentation begins at 11:30 a.m.) and can be attended in person or via Zoom. Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits are available for those interested, and all attendees will also receive a certificate of completion. Sessions are $25 each or $80 for all 4 sessions.
Feb. 28, 2023: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):
Learn about leading inclusively, overcoming bias and seeing diversity grow. Plus, develop DEI partners and allies as you learn.
April 18, 2023: Board and Governance:
Identify and understand the uniqueness of the nonprofit sector and the specific skills required for working with and growing the individual potential of an organization’s board members.
Sept. 26, 2023: Finance and Development, Secondary Income:
Evaluate your organization’s mission to achieve financial sustainability. Plus, develop analytical skills for understanding your financial position more fully and exploring revenue streams.
Nov. 14, 2023: Leadership and Communication (Social Media):
Develop greater leadership skills and increase your confidence in applying these skills effectively in your organization. Plus, create and manage engaging social media through organizing content for your target audience.
