This project will create an interactive virtual cadaver system that combines 3D printing, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) to enhance the study of anatomy. Programmers and artists will collaborate to develop a visually rich, immersive environment where students can explore anatomical structures, learn through interactive simulations, and test their knowledge with built-in quizzes and educational games. Unlike traditional cadavers, which are costly, limited in availability, and pose safety concerns, this system offers a scalable and accessible alternative. Schools worldwide will be able to download and 3D print anatomical models, allowing students to physically interact with components while using AR/VR overlays for deeper spatial understanding. The curriculum will be fully customizable—users can select learning levels, create custom study sections, and adjust the interface for different age groups.
The system is designed around cognitive psychology and multiple forms of memory engagement—spatial, sensory, procedural, and semantic. Students will reinforce learning through tactile 3D interaction, visual exploration in AR/VR, and contextual information such as the origins, insertions, and historical roots of anatomical terms. Gamification will transform memorization into a more dynamic experience, helping students retain information longer than with traditional, sterile systems like Anatomage, Primal Pictures, or Visible Body. By integrating testing, storytelling, and interactive feedback, this platform creates a fun and adaptive learning experience.
