Come explore the sounds associated with worship in different faith traditions. This end-of-semester showcase features an interfaith panel discussion and a screening of Harjo's documentary, which focuses on a family mystery and its connections to Muskogee-Creek hymns. The story traces the songs' historical origins and contributions to American music--and comes to some pretty fascinating conclusions!

"The Oklahoma Sound and Religion Project" is a collaboration between the students of ethnomusicologist Dr. Jake Johnson, Bass School of Music, and the Center for Interpersonal Studies through Film & Literature. Refreshments will be available, and the event is free and open to the public.
